Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott will race in the KIDS TOUR OF SLOVENIA from June 30 to July 2, 2023.

At the recently concluded cycling race Kids Tour of Slovenia 2023 , young cyclists from the Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott teams showed exceptional skills and talent. The stage race, which took place from June 30 to July 2, brought exciting battles between the youngest competitors, who competed in four different stages.

Stage 4 / 4th stage Šentjernej

The first stage took place in Dolenjske Toplice, the second in Novo Mesto, the third in Kostanjevica na Krki, and the fourth in Šentjernej. Each stage presented a unique opportunity for young cyclists to demonstrate their abilities and compete for the top spots in their categories.

The race included various categories, including boys and girls C/U13, boys and girls B/U14, boys and girls A/U15, and younger juniors U17/WU17. Each category presented a unique challenge and opportunity for young competitors to demonstrate their cycling skills and test themselves on a demanding course.

The Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott teams showed an exceptionally strong presence at the race, with their cyclists demonstrating speed, endurance, and tactical thinking. Their discipline, dedication, and team spirit led them to exceptional results.

The young competitors thrilled the audience with their incredible riding and fighting spirit at every stage. We saw exceptional sprints, climbs, descents, and tactical maneuvers, proving that the future of Slovenian cycling is bright and promising.

Road National Championship in Radovljica + race in Italy

Today, the idyllic Slovenian town of Radovljica hosted the Slovenian National Road Cycling Championships, which brought an exceptional atmosphere and exciting races. Young and experienced cyclists competed on demanding routes, where the national champions in various categories were decided.

In the younger junior and older junior categories, competitors completed three laps with a total length of 58.5 kilometers and an elevation gain of 990 meters. Bastian Petrič excelled in the younger junior category, winning the national championship title with his exceptional riding and endurance. Marcel Skok took third place in the older juniors category, with both competitors being members of the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI.

In the older youth category, Ema Podberšič from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team climbed to the top step of the podium, convincingly winning the national championship title with her outstanding performance.Among the members, Urška Pintar, also from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team, became the national champion. Both cyclists showed exceptional strength, endurance, and cycling skills.

In the members' category, the race took place on a demanding 156-kilometer route, which included eight laps and 2,640 meters of elevation gain. The cyclists faced the challenges posed by the route, including two shorter climbs. In this extremely competitive race, Anže Skok from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team took 10th place, while Tadej Pogačar, a member of the UAE team, came out on top, shining and deservedly winning the national championship title.

In addition to the national championship in Radovljica, cyclists from the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team also competed in a race in Italy. In the boys' A category, Miha Otoničar took first place with a 40-second lead over his pursuers, while Urban Hvastja took fifth place in the boys' B category.

Successful national time trial championship for the Rog Cycling Club

Today, June 22, 2023, the national time trial championship took place, organized by the Cycling Federation of Slovenia in cooperation with the KK Gorje club. The event saw numerous young cyclists and members in various age categories compete against each other. The competition featured exciting races, exceptional achievements, and well-deserved winners.

Among the younger juniors (U17), Vanja Kuntarič Žibert from the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team took the top spot on the winners' podium. With his confident riding, he demonstrated exceptional talent and potential for the future of cycling in Slovenia.

In the older junior women's category (WJ), first place went to Ema Podberšič from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team, while second place went to her club colleague Sara Pestotnik. Both demonstrated speed and endurance, proving that they are among the best cyclists in their category.

Among the older juniors (MJ), Gašper Klanjšček from the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team took fourth place. Despite strong competition, he put in an excellent performance, which earned him a place among the best.

In the under-23 (MU) category, Natan Gregorčič from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team took the win. With his persistence, strength, and tactically perfect riding, he beat all the competition and earned himself the gold medal.

Among female athletes under 23 (WU), Nika Bobnar from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team took first place. With her exceptional form and excellent preparation, she excelled on the track and celebrated a well-deserved victory.

In the women's category (WE), Urška Pintar from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team took second place, while Nika Bobnar took third place, proving her versatility and quality.

In the members category (ME), Anže Skok from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team took third place. His fighting spirit and speed thrilled the audience and earned him a place among the best cyclists in the competition.

The National Time Trial Championship was a successful and exceptional competition that showcased the outstanding cycling skills and talent of young riders and the experience of seasoned competitors. The winners deservedly celebrated their successes, while all participants demonstrated perseverance, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Younger juniors and Boys A and B Pogi team impress at races in Italy

The younger juniors of the Pogi team competed today against strong competition in a race in Italy, which took place in the town of Pieris. The race consisted of six flat laps of 7.2 km and two climbs to Doberdob and San Michele, totaling 83 km. Of the 80 cyclists who started, only 30 crossed the finish line.

The Pogi team was represented by Bastian Petrič, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, Jakob Šlibar, Žiga Hamun, Mauro Mächtig, Matic Vintar, Nejc Podržaj, and Žiga Stare. Italian cyclist Rosatto won the solo breakaway, with a lead of more than a minute over his pursuers at the top of San Michele. Bastian Petrič was excellent in the sprint for second place, showing his speed and strength to take third place on the podium. This is his greatest success this season.

In addition to Petrič, other members of the Pogi team also performed well in the first chase group. Mauro Mächtig finished 13th, Nejc Podržaj 22nd, Jakob Šlibar 23rd, and Vanja Kuntarič Žibert 25th. Žiga Hamun, Matic Vintar, and Žiga Stare withdrew from the race this time.

The Pogi team coaches were pleased with the results of their protégés: "It was a very difficult race, with lots of climbs and descents. The guys showed fighting spirit and team spirit. Bastian was fantastic in the sprint, and the others helped him with good work in the group. This is a great success for our club and for Slovenian cycling."

The younger boys A and B of the Pogi team also proved themselves at the Italian race 18° MEMORIAL FEDERICO CARLET, which was 40 km long. In the boys A category, Miha Otoničar, who came second, and Jake Sosa, who came fourth, climbed onto the winners' podium. In the boys' B category, Franci Krajnc came second, Urban Hvastja fifth, and Gal Klun seventh.

Pogi Team older juniors: from the time trial to Ca del Poggio – a weekend in Italy

The Pogi Team, a team of older juniors founded and supported by two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar, competed in two races in Italy this weekend and demonstrated their talent and fighting spirit.

On Saturday, the Pogi Team competed in the Gran Premio Eccellenze Valli del Soligo team time trial, which covered 17.8 kilometers. With Marcel Skok, Jure Medved, Domen Oblak, Jakub Husar, and Tine Jenko in the lineup, our young cyclists finished 23rd out of 34 teams. The Zalf Euromobil Fior team took the win.

On Sunday, the first category race TF GD Dorigo MO Biemmereti MO Ettore e Cristiano F was held, covering a distance of 135 kilometers. The race was very demanding, as the circuit included three climbs up the famous Ca del Poggio hill, which has an average gradient of 12 percent over a good kilometer. Our Pogi Team members fought bravely and showed some great moves. The best among them was Marcel Skok, who finished 35th.

Pogi Team and BTC City Ljubljana Shine at the Sandi Papež Cup Race

Pogi and BTC City Ljubljana achieve excellent results at the Sandi Papež Cup Race

This year's race took place on June 11, 2023, and was intended for boys, girls, and younger female youth. The race route covered the distance from Gabrje to Hrušica and back.

Our cyclists, known as Pogi Team UAE Generali, achieved excellent results. Miha Otoničar took second place in the boys' A category on the 24.5 km long track, Jake Sosa took fifth place, Maks Majnik took sixth place, and Jure Jovanovič took eighth place.

In the boys' B category, on a 19.6 km long track, Andrew Jackso Mccurry took first place, Gal Klun second place, Urban Hvastja fifth place, and Franci Kranjc eighth place. Among the boys' C category, on a 9.8 km long track, Marcos Remon took first place.

Our cyclists from the BTC City Ljubljana Scoot team also achieved excellent results. Taja Mehle took fourth place in the junior women's category on the 24.5 km course. Lina Mehle took first place in the girls' A category on the 19.6 km course, while Lara Šetina took third place in the girls' B category on the 9.8 km course.

Exceptional results for the K.D. ROG cycling teams at the 2nd criterium in Murska Sobota and outstanding success for Urška Pintar at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 in France.

Exceptional performances by the cycling teams of the ROG cycling club at the national road cycling championship – 2nd CRITERION OF THE CITY OF MURSKA SOBOTA

On Sunday, June 4, 2023, the national road cycling championship for various age categories of younger juniors, juniors, older juniors, U23 juniors, elite men, and elite women took place in Murska Sobota. The event attracted top cyclists from various teams, among which the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI and BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT teams stood out.

POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI

The POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team impressed with their outstanding achievements at the championship. Miha Otoničar took an excellent 2nd place in the boys' A category (U15/2), while Jure Jovanovič took 4th place in the same category. Jake Sosa and Luka Ukmar also achieved excellent results, ranking 9th and 10th in the same category.

In the boys' B category (U15/1), Urban Hvastija took first place, while Franci Krajnc took second place. Miha Kovačič and Nejc Čebulj ranked seventh and ninth in the same category.

Miha Otoničar continued his success and ranked second in the boys' C category (U13). Marcos Remon and Andrej Gregorčič ranked sixth and ninth in the same category.

In the younger youth category (U17), the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team excelled. Bor Ebner took 1st place, Bastian Petrič 2nd place, Žiga Hamun 5th place, Vanja Kuntaric Žibert 7th place, and Igor Prijatelj 10th place.

Marcel Skok took 9th place in the older youth (MJ) category.

BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT

The BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team also performed well at the championship. Lina Mehle took first place in the girls' A category (WU15/2), while Zara Bukovec took fourth place in the same category. Lara Šetina took second place in the girls' B category (WU15/1), and Ana Neža Pavlin took ninth place in the same category.

In the younger youth category (WU17), Vesna Potočnik took 1st place, Taja Mehle 4th place, Neža Šetina 6th place, Brina Manja Čuš 8th place, Anika Juvan 9th place, and Julija Farazin 10th place.

The BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team also performed excellently in the older youth category (WJ). Ema Podberšič took 3rd place, Sara Pestotnik 4th place, Eva Potočnik 5th place, Tjaša Sušnik 6th place, Zoja Ferlež 7th place, Lucija Hočevar 8th place, and Maja Perpar 9th place.

All cycling teams showed exceptional perseverance, talent, and fighting spirit at the road cycling championship in Murska Sobota. Urša Pintar takes second place in the demanding Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race in France

Urša Pintar, a member of the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team, impressed with her outstanding achievement at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race in France. The competition, considered one of the most difficult in the women's cycling calendar, featured a demanding 126 km course with an incredible 3,200 m elevation gain.

The decisive selection took place in the last 10 km of the climb, with only three cyclists remaining in the lead, including Urša Pintar, Evita Muzic, and Cofidis Coston Morgane. In a tense finish, Evita Muzic broke away on the descent and deservedly celebrated her victory. Urša Pintar finished in an excellent second place, achieving an outstanding result and securing a place on the podium in this first category race.

In addition to Urša Pintar, two young members of the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team, Nika Bobnar and Tjaša Sušnik, also competed in the race. Although they finished well behind the leaders, they showed exceptional fighting spirit and perseverance on the demanding course.

For Urša Pintar, her success in the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race is an important milestone in her cycling career, confirming her excellent preparation and talent. With its excellent results in international races, the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team continues to strengthen its reputation and consolidate its position among the best women's cycling teams.

Young Slovenian cyclists shine at the Carnia Julium Classic 2023 race in Italy

The younger juniors of the Pogi Team continue their winning streak in international cycling races

This time at the prestigious Carnia Julium Classic 2023 race in Italy. Despite strong competition and a demanding 70-kilometer route, our guys once again demonstrated their cycling skills and fighting spirit.

The race began with a series of flat laps, where our cyclists already showed exceptional riding skills and skillfully covered their opponents' attacks. When the race entered the final climb, a larger group of cyclists formed. The guys worked together perfectly and, through teamwork, put Vanja Kuntarič Žibert in an excellent position to attack at the top.

As the finish line approached, Vanja showed exceptional strength and endurance, attacking one kilometer before the end of the climb. With his fast pace, he gained a nice lead over the other competitors. However, his attack was caught just 50 meters before the finish line, when Italian Magagnotti overtook him and claimed victory.

Nevertheless, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert achieved an excellent second place in the race, which is a remarkable achievement for a young cyclist. The entire team deserves congratulations for their excellent teamwork, as their tactical riding and support for Vanja contributed to his success.

This result proves that our young cyclists are in excellent shape and ready for the challenges of international races. Their fighting spirit, perseverance, and team spirit are a true inspiration for all fans and young cyclists who want to achieve success in cycling races.

Sincere congratulations to Vanja Kuntarič Žibert and the entire team for their outstanding achievement at the Carnia Julium Classic 2023 race in Italy! With such inspiration and hard work, they will certainly continue their successful cycling career.
