2026 National Time Trial Championship

Outstanding performances by Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, Pogi Team UAE Generali, and Pika Team by Mastercard at the national time trial championship

On June 26, 2026, the Slovenian National Time Trial Championship took place in Kartelj near Novo Mesto, where the cyclists from Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, Pogi Team UAE Generali, and Pika Team by Mastercard also delivered outstanding performances.

Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana

In the senior competition, Mihael Štajnar represented Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, finishing in 7th place with a time of 38:51.27.

Among the athletes aged 23 and under, Jon Pritržnik had an excellent performance, finishing in 4th place with a time of 39:18.39.

Pogi Team UAE Generali

The young cyclists of the Pogi Team UAE Generali had an exceptional day. Among the older juniors, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert became the national time trial champion, while Miha Otoničar took fourth place. Maks Majnik also finished in the top ten, coming in ninth.

Among the younger juniors, Gal Klun won the national championship title, and the other team members also performed excellently. Urban Hvastija finished in 5th place, Ažbe Hvastija in 9th place, and Maks Linke in 10th place.

Pika Team by Mastercard

The cyclists of the Pika Team by Mastercard also performed excellently. In the older junior women’s category, Iva Colnar won the national championship title, while Lina Mehle rounded out the team’s success with a 2nd-place finish. Pina Šiler finished just off the podium in 4th place.

In the women's category, the team was represented by Emilie Patru, who finished in 6th place, Špela Pugelj, who finished 7th, and Taja Mehle, who finished 8th.

Among the younger junior women, Brina Prevodnik took an excellent 3rd place, Lara Šetina finished 6th, and Alina Telič Verovšek finished 13th.

The National Championship once again showcased the high-quality work of all the teams at the Rog Cycling Club—from the youth categories to the senior continental team. Congratulations to all the riders, coaches, and support staff for their excellent performances!

Vanja K. Žibert Wins the Coppa Fratelli Granzotto

An outstanding team performance by our older junior riders in a challenging 107-kilometer race in Italy last Saturday, June 20, 2026 💪

The team controlled the race from start to finish and did an outstanding job for their captain leading up to the decisive final climb. Thanks to the team’s excellent preparation, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert launched an attack and, together with an Italian rider, managed to stay at the front all the way to the finish line.

In the final sprint, Vanja showed his greatest strength and clinched the victory! 🏆🔥

Conclusion of the Pogi Team and Pika Team Cycling School 2025/26

With a pleasant get-together, smiles, and plenty of kilometers covered, we successfully wrapped up the Pogi Team and Pika Team cycling school for the 2025/26 school year.

Over the past few months, young cyclists have gained new knowledge, developed their cycling skills, and strengthened their sportsmanship and friendships through training sessions, outings, and various activities. Together, we’ve created many unforgettable moments that will serve as fond memories of yet another successful season.

A heartfelt thank you to all the young cyclists for their hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm; to the coaches for their professional guidance; and to the parents for their support and trust throughout the year.

We wish everyone a pleasant, relaxing, and active summer vacation. May it be filled with new experiences, physical activity, and safe cycling kilometers. See you again in the new season!

The Pogiteam Gusto Ljubljana team competed in the 2026 Tour of Slovenia

This year’s Tour of Slovenia once again featured top-notch cycling, an exceptional atmosphere along the route, and unforgettable scenes from all corners of our country. Among the teams that took on the challenging Slovenian roads was Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana.

Competing against numerous top-tier professional teams and world-class cyclists, our riders demonstrated fighting spirit, perseverance, and team spirit. The highest-ranked member of the team was Jan Pritržnik, who finished 46th in the overall standings. He was followed by Nicolas Gojković in 47th place, Gašper Stajnar in 53rd place, Mihael Štajnar in 74th place, and Bastian Petrič in 76th place.

Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe) was crowned the overall winner of the race; second place went to his teammate Giulio Pellizzari, and third place to Jakob Omrzel (Bahrain Victorious).

For the Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, participating in Slovenia’s largest stage race was a valuable experience and an opportunity to test their strength against the world’s best cyclists. With numerous fans, excellent weather conditions, and spectacular routes through Slovenia’s most beautiful regions, our cyclists successfully represented the club’s colors and gained valuable experience for the rest of the season.

We sincerely congratulate all the competitors and their support teams for their hard work, dedication, and performances, and we wish them every success in future races.

Junior and Senior Youth Teams Are National Champions in the Team Time Trial

On June 7, 2026, the national individual time trial championships for boys and girls and the national team time trial championships for junior and senior youth were held in Tišina.

Our guys have once again proven that they belong among the very best in Slovenian cycling and have won two national team time trial titles! 🇸🇮🏆

Vanja Kuntarič Žibert Takes an Excellent 5th Place at the Trofeo Emozione

On June 13, the older junior riders of Pogi Team UAE Generali competed in two challenging international races in Italy.

On Saturday, the 6th Trofeo Emozione, an international race with an exceptionally large field of participants, took place in Pordenone, where Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, Maks Majnik, David Štembal, Timotej Premelč, Miha Otoničar, and Tit Stevič represented the team.

The race was marked by an excellent performance by Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, who was part of a five-rider breakaway for nearly half the race. After a hard-fought ride, he managed to secure an outstanding 5th place finish, achieving one of the best results of the weekend for our team.

On Sunday, the team competed in the traditional 38th Solighetto International Race, featuring Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, Maks Majnik, Miha Otoničar, Tit Stevič, and Oskar Berlec. The team once again proved themselves against strong international competition with a spirited performance, and Vanja Kuntarič Žibert once again achieved the team’s best result, finishing in 18th place.

Congratulations to all the riders for their hard work and for representing the Pogi Team UAE Generali so well at both international events.

Viktorija Naglič Finishes Third at the National Girls' Championship

🏆 NATIONAL ROAD CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR GIRLS 🏆

The national road cycling championships for boys and girls took place today in Stopiče. Viktorija Naglič successfully represented Pika Team by Mastercard, finishing in an excellent 3rd place in the Girls’ A category.

Boys' National Championships – 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze

🏆 NATIONAL ROAD CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BOYS 🏆

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, the national road cycling championships for boys and girls were held in Stopiče, where the Pogi Team cyclists once again proved that they belong among the very best in Slovenian cycling.

🥇 Rok Vodlan won the national championship title in the Boys C category.
🥈 Nace Zupančič won the national runner-up title in the Boys A category.
🥉 Nace Markič Rus in the Boys C category and Nik Plut in the Boys A category also won bronze medals.

The 12th International 3-Stage Cycling Race: Idrija Grand Prix 2026

Last weekend, Idrija hosted the 12th International 3-Stage Cycling Race, the Idrija Grand Prix, where young cyclists competed in three diverse stages—a mountain climb, a time trial, and a criterium through the city streets. The race offered an exciting and dynamic competition, in which our riders demonstrated competitive riding and excellent results.


Stage 1 – Ascent from Idrijska Bela to Zadlog

The first stage was a grueling mountain challenge that weeded out some of the competitors right from the start.

The race in Idrija once again demonstrated how important stage races are for the development of young cyclists—from climbing and individual time trials to tactical racing in criteriums.
