The Pogi Team shined at the Italian Orsago-Col Alt Races and the 24th MEMORIAL BRUNO ORIOLI

The excitement and passion of cycling came together again on Sunday when the young talents of the Pogi Team competed in the prestigious Italian races Orsago-Col Alt and 24° MEMORIAL BRUNO ORIOLI. The events brought interesting and exciting moments for the team, which proudly represented its colors with its achievements.

At the Orsago-Col Alt race, older juniors showed off their cycling skills. The route of this race included 11 flat laps, after which the cyclists had to face the challenge of a 10-kilometer climb to Col Alt. Gašper Klanjšček proved himself in the Pogi Team, winning an impressive third place. His success was the result of hard work and perseverance. Gašper Kokalj also deserves congratulations for his 11th place finish in this demanding race.

On the other hand, younger juniors participated in the 24° MEMORIAL BRUNO ORIOLI race, which was 80 kilometers long and included seven demanding laps. Unfortunately, the team was affected by punctures at the start of the race, which forced Ebner and Hamun to drop out. Nevertheless, the remaining team members kept their cool and controlled the situation in the race, staying in the lead.

The winner was decided in a spectacular group sprint. With just a few meters to go, Bastian Petrič seemed perfectly positioned to win, but a dangerous collision with another cyclist knocked him out of contention for the top spots. Nevertheless, the team could be proud of their achievements. Jakob Šlibar took fifth place, while Matic Vintar finished in eighth place.

The results of both races provided insight into the potential and efforts of the young cyclists of the Pogi Team. Despite obstacles on the road, they remained focused and fought until the very last meter, which is clear proof of their cycling talent and strong team spirit. A bright future lies ahead for this promising team, as they will continue to work hard and improve their performance in upcoming races.

TADEJ POGAČAR HELPS TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY DEVASTATING FLOODS

Over the past month, we have witnessed devastating floods that have affected certain areas of Slovenia. I invite you to join me on August 23 at 6 p.m. at Kongresni trg in Ljubljana, where I will be happy to sign autographs and take photos with you. ✍️🤳 For each photo and autograph, I will donate €10 to charity to help repair the damage and assist those affected by the floods. Regardless of how many of you show up, we will donate at least €10,000.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in Ljubljana. Thank you.

On Wednesday, we witnessed an extraordinary event at the Congress Square in Ljubljana, which united the hearts of all Slovenian citizens. Sport has an extraordinary power to bring people together, which we felt once again on this occasion. However, the event was not only about sport, but also demonstrated a deep sense of humanity.

Tadej Pogačar, an exceptional cyclist and proud ambassador of our country, has stepped into the spotlight of charity. With his unique approach, he collected 1,793 signatures and 1,214 photographs, rounding it all off with a donation of €10,000. This wonderful sum of €30,000 will go to those who find themselves in difficult life situations. This is real proof that sport can achieve more than just victories in competitions, but also has the power to change lives for the better.

We are also delighted with the contribution made by our fans, who have shown their generous charitable hearts. They have raised an incredible €7,484.01, which will also go to those in need. This awareness that together we can be part of something bigger and more important fills us with pride.

Sincere thanks go to Tadej Pogačar, who, with his generosity and inclusive approach, showed how a passion for sport can transcend the boundaries of competition. We would also like to thank all those who, despite the heat, patiently queued up yesterday to become part of this unforgettable story. Together, we created an invaluable mosaic of a beautiful event that will live on in our hearts for a long time to come.

Continental Cycling Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic at the 47th GP Sportivi di Poggiana

The 47th GRAN PREMIO SPORTIVI DI POGGIANA cycling race, which took place on August 13, brought plenty of excitement and action to Italian roads. The Continental Cycling Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic decided to represent the club's colors in this prestigious 164-kilometer race. Despite their efforts and determination, the result was not in their favor, but the experience undoubtedly provided an opportunity for learning and growth.

The race featured a select team consisting of cyclists Fabijan KRALJ, Jernej HRIBAR, Dan Andrej TOMŠIČ, and Andrew SAMPSON. Together, they set off on a demanding route that included numerous climbs, descents, and turns, presenting many challenges for all competitors.

Despite their efforts and desire to succeed, the Continental Cycling Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic failed to achieve the desired results. The race brought unexpected twists and difficulties that required a great deal of tactical thinking and physical strength. The cyclists faced various challenges on the road, but victory was not meant to be theirs this time.

As Fabijan KRALJ, one of the team members, said: "It was not our day in Italy, but you try to learn from the mistakes you have made and you go on." This kind of response to a challenge is key to maintaining a positive attitude. We can learn a lot from every failure and grow as athletes and individuals. The team members will not let themselves be discouraged, but will continue to train and prepare for upcoming races.

Jernej HRIBAR, another member of the team, added: “Despite our efforts on the race, circumstances got the better of us. It’s important to stay focused and motivated for the upcoming races.” Cycling is known for its unpredictability, so ups and downs are an integral part of this discipline. Each race brings new experiences that contribute to the growth of both the physical and mental strength of cyclists.

The atmosphere among the team members remained positive and encouraging despite the failure. The Continental Cycling Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic showed unity and dedication to their goals. Their efforts were not in vain, as they gained invaluable experience that will help them in future races.
