On Wednesday, July 24, there will be a big reception for Tadej Pogačar, who is once again writing a Slovenian fairy tale, at Kongresni trg in Ljubljana. This year's winner of the Tour de France also won the Tour de France, the race of all races, for the third time.
He will arrive at Kongresni trg at 6 p.m., and two hours later he is expected at his hometown Komenda, where everything will be in yellow again!

Younger juniors, seniors and members raced together on the 15.7km long course from Gorije to Pokljuka, where Jure Medved from our POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI did best in the older juniors. and Vanja Kuntarič Žibert in juniors, both won second place.
Our BTC CITY LJUBLJANA ZHIRAF AMBEDO and BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT teams also raced, because the girls did a great job.

Between July 5 and 7, a bicycle race for young people, Kids Tour of Slovenia 2024, took place in the green areas of our beautiful Slovenia. The competition attracted young cyclists from various teams, who competed in several categories and showed exceptional sportsmanship and perseverance .
BTC City Ljubljana cyclists have achieved good results. Brina Prevodnik and Lina Mehle took the second place overall in the category of girls B and younger juniors. Alina Telič Verovšek also placed in the top five among B girls.
POGI Team UAE Generali riders also performed excellently, as they recorded several high places in the three stages. Andi Šmerc and Urban Hvastija were among the standouts, as they consistently occupied places in the top ten. Vanja Kuntarič Žibert also showed consistent performances among the juniors, which ultimately earned him a high ranking in the overall total.
The final stage served as the last test of endurance and strength for the young cyclists. Nik Plut and Andi Šmerc excelled in the boys' C category, and Urban Hvastija and Gal Klun in the boys' A category.

This weekend, Slovenia was proud of its youth cycling team, which demonstrated its perseverance and strength at the Cup of Nations race in Tlmače and Podhajska in Slovakia. Among the older juniors, the colors were represented by Jure Medved, Tine Jenko, Bor Ebner, Taj Žagar and Bastian Petrič, while Jakub Husar competed for the home colors.
The three-day event began with Friday's time trial, which was marked by heat and strong winds, which presented riders with additional challenges on the 11-kilometer course. Tine Jenko won 24th place, Bastian Petrič 42nd place, and Bor Ebner was 45th. Jenko was the best Slovenian in this time trial, while Jakub Husar for Slovakia ranked 57th.
The weekend brought two more road races, where our juniors continued their active racing. They maintained their strong form in Saturday's race, and were preparing the ground for Sunday's final, where expectations were especially high due to Bastian Petrič's excellent ranking on Saturday.
Sunday offered a dramatic finish, with a crash in the final moments before the finish, when everything was set for a sprint. Bastian Petrič, who was in an excellent position for a high ranking, was involved in an accident at the head of the group and was thus left without a chance for the podium. Nevertheless, the fall, fortunately, did not leave serious consequences.
Slovenian youths return home richer for valuable experiences that will undoubtedly contribute to their further development and success on the international scene. With their fighting spirit and team spirit, our cyclists showed that they are serious competitors in youth races and that the future of Slovenian cycling is in good hands.

6th place was achieved by Miha Otoničar, and 7th place by Matic Vintar. Among the older juniors, Jure Medved won 4th place, Jakob Ahlin 7th and Bastian Petrič 9th.

On Friday, 21.7. In 2024, Komenda hosted the sixth edition of the Tade Pogačar Cup, which attracted many cyclists from all over Slovenia. The event was extremely successful and featured exciting races and outstanding achievements of young and experienced cyclists.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that he is our long-time board member Tomaž Grm sadly passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was an extraordinary man, eternal optimist, a big fan of cycling and an indispensable part of our society. His passion for cycling and his selfless dedication to society are ours again and again inspired. With his work and enthusiasm, he left an indelible mark that will remain with us forever. He crossed Zadnja Franja two years ago. His legacy lives on in our memories and in everyone bicycle kilometer, which we will perform in his honor. In these difficult times, we express our deepest condolences to his family and all those close to him. Farewell to Tomaž will take place in a close circle of family and friends.

KD Rog
The Race around Slovenia 2024, also known as the Tour of Slovenia, once again served up tense stages and high-quality international participation. The fifth stage, which ran from Šentjerne to Novi Mesto, was particularly interesting as the riders battled it out in a fast finish that ultimately gave the win to Ben Healy from the EF Education - EasyPost team.
Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic, representing Slovenian colors, had mixed success in this stage. The best result was achieved by Dylan Hopkins, who finished the stage in 56th place, 5 minutes and 34 seconds behind the winner. Natan Gregorčič finished with a time of 12 minutes and 28 seconds behind the leaders, while Andy Sampson and Viktor Potočki had the same gap of 12 minutes and 36 seconds. Mihael Štajnar and Li Ting Wei finished the stage slightly behind their teammates.
In the overall standings (GC), Mihael Štajnar is the best ranked member of the Ljubljana Gusto Santic team in 87th place, 42 minutes and 56 seconds behind the leader. Dylan Hopkins and Natan Gregorčič also struggled, but their backlogs indicate the problems they faced during the race.

The Tour of Slovenia is known for its difficulty and speed, but also for the fact that it gives smaller teams the opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage. Despite the fact that the results may not be what the team would like, every experience is valuable, especially in such a prestigious race as the race around Slovenia.
On Sunday, senior juniors, in the line-up of Žiga Hamun, Bastian Petrič, Jure Medved, Jakub Husar and Bor Ebner, raced in the prestigious Valli del Soligo Juniors race. The 134-kilometer long and very demanding race also crossed the famous Ca' del Poggio climb 3 times, over which the 20th stage of this year's race across Italy took place👚. The race was very fast and demanding from the very beginning, and the selection was made on Ca' del Poggio🏔. Our riders showed excellent team spirit, and in the end Bastian Petrič and Bor Ebner placed 40th and 43rd 👏
