This year, the Ljubljana women's cycling team joined forces with the Italian team ASD Born to Win. The team was presented in the famous cycling town of Ofida, which also has a history of Slovenian cycling. In 2010, Jan Polanc took 5th place at the Junior World Championships there, and former team member Batageljeva took 13th place at the European Championships in 2011.
The newly formed continental team BTC City Ljubljana Zhiraf Ambedo will now have the opportunity to compete in some of the biggest World Tour races in Italy.
In addition to Italian cyclists, the team also includes Slovenian cyclists, among them Urška Pintar, Špela Colnar, Hana Žumer, Ema Pirš, and Pija Galof. The team also includes the Italian national champion in the gravel discipline. The team also includes members from Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
This week, the team will compete in the elite Strade Bianche race, considered one of the most difficult races of the season in both the men's and women's competitions. Among the Slovenian cyclists, Urška Pintar, Špela Colnar, and Pija Galof will be riding on the white roads, which is a great challenge for any cyclist. Source/author: BTC City Ljubljana
