E-seminar: THE POWER OF SPORT ON CHILDREN'S BRAIN DEVELOPMENT – February 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.

LECTURER Irena Kuntarič Žibert, BA. pth., spec. PT children and adolescents under SV

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., join us online for a lecture on THE POWER OF SPORT ON CHILDREN'S BRAIN DEVELOPMENT.

Science in sport increasingly emphasizes the importance of physical fitness in young people, but at the same time focuses on the growing importance of psychological readiness. The emotions and feelings of active young people are becoming crucial, as recognizing them enables effective regulation of emotions before, during, and after training and competition. Young athletes experience more stressful situations, but these provide them with valuable experiences if they are properly addressed, evaluated, and listened to. In the pursuit of success and inner satisfaction, more and more athletes are turning to visualization, mindfulness techniques, and breathing exercises, which have a significant impact on calming and preparing the brain for future situations.

Nowadays, burnout and (excessive) fatigue are becoming increasingly common among athletes. This makes psychological support for young people even more crucial and necessary. The success of young athletes depends on supportive parents, high-quality coaches, and a strong and supportive community.

We therefore cordially invite you to an online lecture entitled THE POWER OF SPORT ON CHILDREN'S BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, which will help us, young people, and the community achieve better mental health.

INVITATION: Parents, professionals, coaches, sports enthusiasts, children, and young people who enjoy, are interested in, and are inspired by sports are all welcome to attend.

LECTURER Irena Kuntarič Žibert, BA. pth., spec. PT children and adolescents under SV

She graduated from Sigmund Freud University Vienna – Ljubljana branch. She is the head of NEVA, an institute for the development of children and adolescents, which has its own clinic in the private Obelisk therapy center in Ljubljana. She is the professional director of the socio-therapeutic Camp for Independence and Connection, working in close cooperation with Sigmund Freud University. She is also the professional director of the educational program for VIZ professionals, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport.

She is passionate about exploring relationships between children and adolescents and advocates corrective emotional experiences for the development of new ways of thinking, feeling, behaving, and relating. Caring for the mental health of children and adolescents is her priority for the development of modern times. She also develops and encourages the mindset of young athletes, as she believes that psychological preparation is one of the foundations for the healthy development of young people and society.

She is a big fan of cycling and an athlete at heart. She is also the mother of her son Vanja and daughter Neža. She and her husband encourage sports in their family dynamics, as they wholeheartedly believe that active children can also be happier children.
