Senior juniors race in Italy – Giro di Primavera (1.1)

At the end of a tough week of competition, the older juniors of the Pogi Team performed excellently. At the Giro di Primavera in San Vendemiano, Italy, they raced competitively and achieved excellent results. First, they completed five flat laps around the city, followed by six hilly laps, where Vanja Kuntaric Žibert quickly found himself in the lead. Together with the breakaway riders, they competed until the last lap. Then there were a series of attacks, and a pair of cyclists found themselves in the lead, cycling 20 kilometers to the finish line. Vanja fell just short of joining the front of the race, then continued the race with two other cyclists. He did not shine in the sprint of the trio, but still finished fifth (first among those born in 2008). He also shone on the mountain stages, where he was not far from overall victory. The success was complemented by Luka Maksimovič in 20th and Bor Ebner in 25th place.

To Krvavec with Tae Pogačar on October 12, 2025

From Klanec to Klanec – compete with the best cyclist in the world

Registration opens on May 12: 1,189 places available, which is also the number of meters of elevation gain on Krvavec.

EVENT FROM SLOPE TO SLOPE – Tadej Pogačar appreciates the support he receives from fans at all races, so we have prepared a unique cycling event concept, where Tadej will host all his fans on home turf and take them to his favorite slope – Krvavec.

Strong support is like a tailwind that helps him achieve success, which is why Tadej invites fans from all over the world to his beloved Komenda and his favorite home hill.

"I want to give something back to the community and the fans," said Tadej, and that's how the event S KLANCA V KLANC – "POGI CHALLENGE" came about.

A total of 1,189 cyclists will be able to register for the event. The number of limited places is not random; 1,189 is the altitude in meters from Klanc to the finish line at Krvavec. The main motivation for participating in the event will not be just the competition, but the lifelong memory that each participant will have.

Tadej loves challenges, so now he is challenging his fans. Who can beat him on his climb? Cycling alongside the best cyclist in the world is not only an invaluable experience, it is a real challenge for recreational cyclists.

All participants will start together in Komenda. From there, Tadej will lead all cyclists on a ride to the foot of Krvavec. At the junction with the mountain road to Krvavec, the second, more intense part of the competition will begin. Tadej will pull back, letting all 1,189 cyclists pass him, and after a short time he will start chasing his escapees.

The biggest challenge for the competitors will be to defend their lead over Tadej as he chases them to the finish line. So, they will be running away from the best cyclist in the world and hoping that he won't catch up with them before the finish line at the top of Krvavec. All those who reach the finish line before him will be the ultimate winners, while all those who are caught by Tadej will have an unforgettable memory.

Tadej Pogačar: “Personally, I am really looking forward to the event, also because it will be unique, taking place in my home environment, on my favorite climb in the world. I don't think there are many events like this. I know it will be successful and I hope it will become a traditional event.”

We will mark it on our calendar. The event is scheduled for the end of the cycling season, which will allow fans to get together, relive their successes, and socialize with the media.

Registration for the event opens on May 12, 2025, and remains open until all 1,189 places are filled.

Tadej achieved his first cycling victory in 2009 on the Krvavec climb, already showing that climbs suit him. This is also his favorite climb, and we know that he wins on climbs and is making cycling history, so the decision on where to organize the "POGI CHALLENGE" was easy.

The finish line will be transformed into a venue for entertainment and memories. A diverse music program, meet & greet, press conference for the media in front of fans, fan zone, and auction of Tadej's cycling equipment (all proceeds will go to the Tadej Pogačar Foundation) await us.

We will tell you more soon.

An exceptional cycling weekend for recreational cyclists is behind us: training, relaxation, and socializing in an idyllic setting.

The cycling weekend was extremely successful and proved once again why cyclists love to return to this unforgettable sporting event, which we organize twice a year in Poreč.  Despite the rain on the first day, we had an excellent training session, which further strengthened our endurance and cycling fitness.

The hotel had a large cycling center where you could rent road bikes. The center offered free bike washing, which we gladly took advantage of so that we could train on clean and ready bikes on Saturday. Saturday's training took place in dry weather, which allowed us to make even better use of the route. Sunday brought beautiful sunny weather, which concluded the entire weekend in the best possible way.

As always, the food at the Valmar Parentino **** hotel restaurant was top notch. The menu was extremely varied and satisfied all tastes, from those who swear by sports nutrition to those who want to indulge a little. There was also a spa center and saunas, as well as a large video gaming room, table tennis, billiards, and table foosball, where we spent the rest of our free time when we weren't cycling. Guided workouts were also organized in the gym, both in the morning and in the evening, which further enriched our experience.

The hotel is also very suitable for families, offering numerous activities for children, childcare, and other activities that allow complete relaxation for all generations.

On Saturday evening, we were thrilled by a lecture given by Andrej Hauptman, president of the KD Rog club and sports director of the UAE team, which manages Tadej Pogačar. He gave us a behind-the-scenes look at races such as the Tour de France. His stories and insights into the workings of professional teams inspired us and brought us closer to the world of top-level cycling.

On Friday evening after dinner, we had a pleasant get-together over a glass of wine, where we socialized and got to know each other better. Many of the weekend participants also connected with each other on Strava and are already looking forward to the next event, which will take place in the fall.

For the excellent organization of the cycling weekend, sincere thanks again go to Miru Miškulin, who ensured that the event ran smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere.

The cycling season officially began that weekend, so all cycling enthusiasts are invited to join the "gentlemen ride" and regularly organized cycling trips for recreational cyclists, which take place every week. For more information, visit: https://kdrog.si/vadba-rekreacija/#zunanja-vadba

The entire cycling weekend was a perfect combination of training, relaxation, and socializing, confirming that this is an event worth attending every year. For more information about cycling weekends, visit the KD Rog website: https://kdrog.si/vadba-rekreacija/#kolesarski-vikendi

The older juniors opened the competitive season at Circuito delle Conche

In the 107 km long race, the cyclists completed 13 "flat" laps, with the last one taking them on a 1.8 km climb to Borgo Martin.

As is typical for the first races, the competition was very intense, as we lost two cyclists in the opening laps due to a fall. The remaining cyclists controlled the race well and brought Bastian to the front of the pack for the final climb. 💪 The group broke up on the climb, and Bastian finished as the best Slovenian in 15th place. 👌

The coaches are satisfied with the form of the cyclists, and now they are eagerly awaiting our first home race—the Piran Municipality Grand Prix. 😎
