On September 7, 2024, the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI senior youth team competed in the 83rd Trofeo Otavio Bottecchia in Piancavallo, Italy. The boys first rode 30 laps of 2.8 km, then descended 5 km towards Aviano and climbed back up to Piancavallo along a panoramic road. There were a series of breakaways on the laps, in which we always had a representative, but without ultimate success. The final climb decided the race, with Bastian Petrič finishing 12th as the best of the Pogi Team riders. This is a good start for Bastian ahead of the upcoming European Championships in Belgium.

From August 15 to 18, 2024, our cyclists from the Pogi Team UAE Generali participated in the 5th international stage race Alpe Adria Tour. The competition began in neighboring Austria and offered a variety of challenges for our young cyclists, ranging from the boys' C category to the older juniors, over the course of four days.
In the first stage, our youngest and oldest competitors showed exceptional form and deservedly climbed onto the winners' podium, with Andij Šmerc in 2nd place in the U13 category and Bor Ebner in 3rd place in the U19 category.
The rest of the race presented challenging tests, such as the time trial and the climb, where our cyclists achieved several top rankings. Gal Klun consistently maintained a high level of performance throughout the race in the U15 category, which ultimately earned him an excellent 2nd place in the overall classification.
The final day of the race featured a circuit race through the streets of Klagenfurt, where our competitors once again demonstrated their strength and technique. They fought for top results in all categories, with Bor Ebner and Gal Klun both finishing second in their respective categories.

Younger juniors successfully complete the Udine-Subit race
The younger juniors are returning to racing after a break. 🔥 Today they competed in the Udine-Subit race. 🇮🇹 The race was 76 km long with flat laps at the start, followed by an 8 km climb to the village of Subit at the end. ⛰️
Our POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI cyclists controlled the race perfectly on the flat sections and prevented any dangerous breakaways. Immediately after the start of the climb, the group broke up and that's when the real race began.🥵 Of our cyclists, Miha Otoničar performed best on the climb, fighting for a place in the top ten until the very end. Unfortunately, 200 m before the finish line, he narrowly avoided a crash due to a somewhat unfortunate road closure.😬 Nevertheless, he achieved a respectable 18th place.👏 Shortly after Miha, Matic Vintar also crossed the finish line in 20th place.💪
The younger and older juniors are heading off tomorrow for training camp, which will serve to improve their form ahead of the varied second half of the season.🔥
