In October, the Ljubljana Gusto Santic team participated in the prestigious Japan Cup Cycle Road Race in Utsunomiya, Japan. This one-day race, ranked among the highest category UCI ProSeries events, is one of the biggest cycling races in Asia, attracting top cyclists every year, including those who compete in races such as the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia.
The event lasts three days, making it a true cycling festival. The first day is dedicated to team presentations, where all participants introduce themselves.
The second day features the Japan Cup Criterium, which takes place on the main streets of Utsunomiya, where cyclists compete in a sprint race. The final day is the highlight of the event – the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race, where cyclists conquer the steep climbs of Mount Kogashi.

On Sunday, the younger juniors went to 
and competed in the 1st Trofeo ciclistica Bujese, an 84 km race in Buje. A total of 160 cyclists lined up at the start, with Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, Mauro Mächtig, Tit Stevič, Nejc Podržaj, Timotej Premelč, David Štembal, Rafko Snoj, and Jure Jovanovič competing for POGI TEAM.
Today, the national school championship in time trial cycling took place, organized by KD Rog – Pogi Team organizes together with The Planica Sports Institute of the Republic of Slovenia and the Cycling Federation of SloveniaCyclists born between 2010 and 2015 (licensed and unlicensed) competed on a 2.8 km long track, which ran through the running track in the beautiful surroundings of the Planica Nordic Center.
Sports festival in Ljubljana successfully concluded
Ljubljana once again hosted the Sports Festival, which took place without alcohol and under the slogan "Sport is life." The organizers would like to thank all festival participants and invite them to view photos and highlights from the event on the festival's official website. Today, our older riders tested themselves in the 52° COPPA FRATELLI GRANZOTTO race, just a stone's throw from the Gorizia hills. The race was 110 km long, consisting of four small laps and two larger ones, where they rode up the 2.8 km long Ruttars climb. The Pogiteam riders were active throughout the race and covered the attacks of others well. At the end of the race, our Jure Meedved had the most strength and took 12th place. The success was complemented by Žan Prerojevič Benda, who was the overall best in the flying goals.

On September 7, 2024, the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI senior youth team competed in the 83rd Trofeo Otavio Bottecchia in Piancavallo, Italy. The boys first rode 30 laps of 2.8 km, then descended 5 km towards Aviano and climbed back up to Piancavallo along a panoramic road. There were a series of breakaways on the laps, in which we always had a representative, but without ultimate success. The final climb decided the race, with Bastian Petrič finishing 12th as the best of the Pogi Team riders. This is a good start for Bastian ahead of the upcoming European Championships in Belgium.
