On May 10, the older juniors competed in the Maggio Fiaschettano race. The race consisted of 12 laps, covering 80 km with approximately 1,400 meters of elevation gain. The boys put up a great fight and kept the race under control the entire time. In the penultimate lap, a small group broke away on the climb and maintained their lead all the way to the finish. In the sprint of this group, Max Manik was best positioned and finished in 6th place.

Štajnar Wins the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Our Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana member, Mihael Štajnar, is the winner of the first cycling race in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He won the three-stage race with a two-second lead over Poland’s Jakub Kaczmarek, while the Dutch rider Lars Quaedvlieg finished third (+5 s).
Štajnar built a decisive lead in the second stage and held onto it confidently all the way to the finish line in Neum.

A Successful Cycling Weekend: Kamnik and Domžale Host the Pogi Cup
The cycling weekend in the municipalities of Kamnik and Domžale once again featured top-notch sporting events. On Saturday, April 11, the 5th race for the Calcit Kamnik Cup and the ZAME Grand Prix took place in Tunjice, marking the first stage of the overall Pogi Cup standings. Competitors in the MU17 (junior men), MU19 (senior men), WU17 (junior women), WU19 (senior women), and WE (women’s elite) categories competed on the challenging course.
The action continued on Sunday, April 12, when Ihan hosted the 3rd Domžale Municipality Grand Prix, the second stage of the Pogi Cup. With perfect weather, a large crowd, and a diverse range of accompanying activities, the event once again demonstrated a high level of organization.
The program began with children’s races, in which as many as 80 children participated. This was followed by an amateur race and the municipal championship, before which Mayor Renata Kosec addressed the participants. In the afternoon, the races for the Slovenian Cup took place, with the MU17, WU19, and WE categories covering 50 km, and the MU19 category covering 75 km.

2. The Piran Municipality Grand Prix Thrilled Spectators with Top-Notch Racing
Last Saturday, Portorož Airport hostedthe 2nd Piran Municipality Grand Prix, which, organized by the Rog Ljubljana Cycling Club, once again confirmed its status as one of the most attractive cycling events for young people in the region.
The event, which combines an international race with the Slovenian Cup race, attracted numerous promising cyclists from Slovenia and abroad to the starting line. From the very first laps, we witnessed exceptionally dynamic racing, numerous attacks, and a battle for every meter, which created an excellent atmosphere along the course.
The runway at Portorož has once again proven to be the ideal venue—safe, fast, and easy to navigate, making for exciting and tactically challenging races.
Top results in all categories
In the older youth category,Mai Prevejšek (KK Novo mesto) took first place,David Adam (Meblojogi – Pro Concrete) finished second, andMassimo Podo (ASD Libertas Cerese) came in third.
Among the younger juniors, the cyclistsfrom POGI Team UAE Generali put in an excellent performance, withUrban Hvastija taking first place,Maks Linke coming in second, andRelja Nikačević (KK Novo mesto) finishing third.
In the younger junior women's category,Kaja Adam (Perutnina Ptuj) was the fastest, ahead ofViktoria Neudeck (LRV Steiermark)andŽiva Bohak (Perutnina Ptuj).

The action at the airport kicked off with promotional races for the youngest participants, which brought smiles to everyone’s faces and provided their first taste of competition. The entire day thus combined top-level sports, youthful energy, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The organizers from KD Rog Ljubljana, together with their partners and the Municipality of Piran, have once again demonstrated their ability to create a world-class sporting event that brings together the local community and the international cycling scene.

II. GRAND PRIZE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF PIRAN – MARCH 21, 2026
On March 21, 2026, the Municipality of Piran will host the second edition of the II. Grand Prix of the Municipality of Piran cycling event, which will take place in the area of Portorož Airport. The event will bring together sports, the local community, and top cycling energy in the unique setting of Slovenian Istria.
