This year, the Ljubljana women's cycling team teamed up with the Italian team ASD Born to Win. The presentation of the team took place in the famous cycling town of Ofida, where Slovenian cycling also has a history. In 2010, Jan Polanc took 5th place at the World Junior Championship there, and former team member Batageljeva took 13th place at the European Championship in 2011.
Newly formed continental team BTC City Ljubljana Zhiraf Ambedo will now have the opportunity to compete in some of the biggest World Tour races in Italy.
In addition to Italian cyclists, the team also includes Slovenian cyclists, including Urška Pintar, Špela Colnar, Hana Žumer, Ema Pirš and Pija Galof. The Italian national champion in the gravel discipline is also a member of the team. The team also consists of members from Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Already this week, the team will compete in the elite Strade Bianche race, which is considered one of the most difficult races of the season in both men's and women's competition. Among the Slovenian female cyclists, Urška Pintar, Špela Colnar and Pija Galof will ride on the white roads, which is a big challenge for every female cyclist. Source/author: BTC City Ljubljana
