From Friday, May 5, to Sunday, May 7, the Slovenian junior national team participated in the Peace Race in the Czech town of Jevíčko. Among the representatives were three cyclists from POGI TEAM, namely Bor Ebner, Žan Lopatič, and Bastian Petrič.
The competition took place in four stages, the first stage being a prologue, followed by an 82 km long second stage, which took place across the famous Hartinkov. The third stage was shorter, while the fourth was 84 km long. On the last day of the competition, there was a 15 km long time trial.
Bastian Petrič attacked the top ten in the overall standings on the last stage, but unfortunately, after four very strenuous stages, he ran out of strength for higher places. Nevertheless, he finished the race in an excellent 14th place, proving that he can compete with the best cyclists in Europe.
The Peace Race is considered one of the most important races for young juniors in Europe, which makes the participation of the Slovenian national team and the success of our cyclists an even more significant achievement. Bor Ebner, Žan Lopatič, and Bastian Petrič proved themselves in the competition and demonstrated that they have great potential for further development and a successful career in cycling.
