To Krvavec with Tae Pogačar on October 12, 2025
From Hill to Hill – compete with the best cyclist in the world
Registration opens on May 12th: 1,189 places available, the same number of meters of altitude climb to Krvavec
EVENT FROM CLIMB TO CLIMB – Tadej Pogačar respects the fan support he feels at all races, so we have prepared a unique concept for a cycling event where Tadej will host all his fans on home soil and take them to his favorite hill - Krvavec.
Strong support is like the wind at his back, helping him achieve all his successes, which is why Tadej invites fans from all over the world to his beloved Komenda and his favorite home slope.
“I want to give something back to the community and the fans,” were Tadej's words and that's how the event FROM CLIMB TO CLIMB – “POGI CHALLENGE” was born.
Why is this event so special?
1189 cyclists will be able to register for the event. The number of limited places is not accidental, 1189 is the altitude meters from Klanec to the finish on Krvavec. The main motive for participating in the event will not be just the competition, but the lifelong memory that each participant will have.
Tadej loves challenges, so now he's challenging his fans. Who can beat him on his climb? Cycling alongside the best cyclist in the world is not only an invaluable experience, it's a real challenge for recreational cyclists.
THIS IS A UNIQUE SPORTING EVENT THAT THE WORLD AND SLOVENIA HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE
The mass start of all participants will be in Komenda. From there, Tadej will ride with all the cyclists to the foot of Krvavec. At the fork in the mountain path towards Krvavec, the second, more tense part of the competition will begin. Tadej will pull away, let go of all 1189 cyclists in front of him, and after a short time, start hunting for his escapees.
The biggest challenge for the competitors will be to defend their lead over Tadej as he chases them to the finish line. So, they are running away from the best cyclist in the world and hoping that he doesn't catch them until they reach the top of Krvavec. Anyone who finishes ahead of him is the ultimate winner, and anyone who is caught by Tadej will have an unforgettable memory.

Tadej Pogačar: "Personally, I'm really looking forward to the event, also because it will be unique, it will take place in my home environment, on my favorite climb in the world. I don't think there are many events like this. I know it will be successful and I want it to become a traditional event."
OCTOBER 12, 2025
We will mark it on our calendar. The event is placed at the end of the cycling season, which will allow fans to socialize, relive successes, and socialize with the media.
Applications they open for the event 12.5.2025 and are open until all 1189 vacancies are filled.
Why Krvavec?
Tadej achieved his first cycling victory in 2009 on the climb to Krvavec and already showed that he is good at climbs. This is also his favorite climb and we know that he wins and writes cycling history on climbs, so the decision to organize the “POGI CHALLENGE” was easy.

What happens when we reach our destination?
The race finish line will be transformed into a place of fun and memories. We will be treated to a varied music program, a meet & greet, a press conference for the media in front of the fans, a fan zone, and an auction of Tadej's cycling equipment (all proceeds will go to the Tadej Pogačar Foundation).
We'll tell you more soon.

An exceptional cycling weekend for recreational cyclists is behind us: Training, relaxation and socializing in an idyllic environment
The cycling weekend was extremely successful and proved once again why cyclists love to return to this unforgettable sporting experience, which we organize twice a year in Poreč. Despite the fact that the first day was rainy, we had an excellent training session, which further strengthened our endurance and cycling readiness.
We had a large cycling center at the hotel, where you can also rent road bikes. The center offers free bike washing, which we were happy to take advantage of so that we could train on Saturday with clean and ready bikes. Saturday's training took place in dry weather, which allowed us to make even better use of the route. Sunday, however, served up beautiful sunny weather, which ended the entire weekend in the most beautiful way possible.
In the hotel restaurant Valmar Parentino **** The food was, as always, top-notch. The offer was extremely varied and satisfied all tastes, from those who swear by sports nutrition to those who want a little pampering. There was also a spa center and saunas, as well as a large video gaming room, table tennis, billiards and table foosball, where we had a great time spending the rest of our free time when we weren't cycling. There were also guided workouts in the gym, both in the morning and in the evening, which further enriched our experience.
The hotel is also very suitable for families, as it offers numerous animations for children, childcare and other activities that allow for complete relaxation for all generations.
On Saturday evening, we were impressed with a lecture by Andrej Hauptman, president of the KD Rog club and sports director of the UAE team, where Tadej Pogačar is coached, who introduced us to the behind-the-scenes world of races like the Tour de France. His stories and insights into the workings of professional teams impressed us and brought us closer to the world of top cycling.
On Friday evening after dinner we had a nice get-together over a glass of wine, where we made friends and got to know each other better. Many of the weekend participants also connected with each other on Strava and are already looking forward to the new performance, which will take place in the fall.
Once again, sincere thanks go to Miro Miškulin for the excellent organization of the cycling weekend, who ensured that the event ran smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere.
The cycling season officially started this weekend, so all cycling enthusiasts are invited to the "gentlemen ride" and regularly organized cycling trips for recreational cyclists, which take place every week. The entire cycling weekend was a perfect combination of training, relaxation and socializing, which confirms that it is an event worth attending every year. More information about the cycling weekends can be found on the KD Rog website: https://kdrog.si/vadba-rekreacija/#kolesarski-vikendi

The senior juniors opened the competition season at the Circuito delle Conche
In the 107km long race, the cyclists completed 13 "flat" laps, the last of which took the cyclists on a 1.8km climb to Borgo Martin.
As is typical for first races, the racing was very nervous, as we lost two riders due to falls in the opening laps. The other guys controlled the race well and brought Bastian to the front of the line on the last climb. 💪 The group broke up on the climb, and Bastian finished as the best Slovenian in 15th place. 👌
The coaches are satisfied with the cyclists' form, and now they are eagerly awaiting our first home race - the Piran Municipality Grand Prix 😎

PRESENTATION OF THE PIKA TEAM by Mastercard CYCLING TEAM
According to Pogi Team, today, at the headquarters of Dinit in Izola, it also had its official presentation. Pika Team by Mastercard. It is a girls' women's cycling team that will operate under the auspices of KD Rog and will be focused primarily on the work and development of young cyclists. Pika Team was born following the example of Pogi Team, which was founded by the most successful Slovenian and world cyclist Tadej Pogačar.
He also impressed his partner and the most successful Slovenian cyclist with his project. Ursko Zigart, which decided to offer an opportunity to young, promising Slovenian cyclists. The team, which consists of 30 cyclists, includes girls of various age groups, from girls to older juniors and members up to 23 years of age. The aim of the Pika Team project is to provide promising cyclists with conditions for work and competition at the highest level and to encourage women's competitive cycling in Slovenia. On this occasion, Pika Team's partners also presented themselves in Izola, where the team is currently preparing for the start of the season. In addition to the main sponsors, Dinit and Mastercard, the bike outfitter Factor bikes. Zavarovalnica Generali has also been providing generous support to the KD ROG youth selections for more than 20 years, as well as Plume and the Ljubljana City Council. The press conference was also attended by KD ROG President Andrej Hauptman, who expressed his hope that the establishment of Pika Team would give new life to Slovenian women's cycling.
ANDREJ HAUPTMAN, president of KD Rog
It is a youth women's team led by the best Slovenian cyclist Urška Žigart, who, like Tadej Pogačar, started her first serious cycling kilometers in KD Rog. Like Pogi Team, Pika Team is also focused on supporting young cyclists who are preparing for the highest level of professional cycling with professional guidance, top-notch training and team spirit. The team combines passion for sports and perseverance, encourages team spirit and cares for future generations of top cyclists. At KD Rog, we will strive to provide the girls with the best possible conditions for success at the highest level.
Urška Žigart, project leader Pika Team had club commitments today, as her team, AG Insurance – Soudal Team, also officially presented itself to the public today. Therefore, she explained her decision to establish Pika Team in a special video message.
URŠKA ŽIGART, founder of PikaTeam
I started the Pika Team project because I wanted to give back to Slovenian cycling a part of what it gave me in the past. When I became a member of KD Rog in 2015, it changed my life. Today I know what young girls need for development, and at Pika Team we will try to provide them with these conditions. We will try to provide them with appropriate professional support, equipment, nutritional advice and everything else that is part of the training and competition process. Women's cycling in Slovenia lags behind men's, but we will try to reduce this gap. The coaching team and other professional help will be shared by both teams, and at the same time they will also participate in the training process. We invite all girls, young talents who want to try their hand at this garage sport, to Pika Team. We look forward to working with you.
Coaches Martin Krašek and Lara Maretič took on the task of working with young cyclists.
MARTIN KRAŠEK, coach of Pika Team
Pika Team brings together cyclists from the youngest categories, girls, to older members, U23. 11 girls are participating in the first preparations here in Izola. Most of them are younger and older juniors, to whom we have added 3 more girls this time. Unfortunately, we had some illnesses in the team, so the rest of them are not in Izola these days. We also did not invite girls to this meeting who do not yet have enough experience for safe training in traffic. The Pika Team members carried out their winter preparations last week. Otherwise, we are already preparing for the first tests of the season, which we will start with races in Umag and Poreč on March 5th and 9th, while the girls will compete for the first time on home soil at the 1st Piran Grand Prix on March 22nd, organized by KD Rog.
Pija Galof is among those girls from whom the team expects the most.
PIJA GALOF – member of U23
For me, being a member of Pika Team means a new opportunity after two difficult years and some fresh energy that will help me show what I am capable of. I also think that for all the girls it represents a better environment and an opportunity to grow in this sport. The highlight of the season will definitely be the two UCI stage races in the Czech Republic and of course the European Championships, if it turns out that I am ready for it..
Representatives of the sponsors also expressed their satisfaction at the team's presentation, as their involvement in the project paved the way for higher levels of women's cycling in Slovenia.
LUKA GABROVŠEK. Country Manager Mastercard Slovenia
At Mastercard, we recognize that sports are one of the core passions of an individual, and play an important role in creating a more inclusive and encouraging environment for young female athletes. We believe that investing in them is one of the most important investments for the future, so we are happy to be part of a new success story in Slovenian cycling.
PRIMOŽ PATRU, President of the Board of Directors of Dinit doo
We are a technology company that mainly operates in the world of digital payments, but we encourage a healthy and quality lifestyle for our employees. In the Pika Team project, we have recognized values that are close to us. Cycling is a sport that requires discipline and hard work, perfection and courage. Without this, you cannot succeed in either sports or business. Cycling is a sport that also emphasizes the values of sustainable development in the most beautiful way, to which we are committed. Our sponsorship of Pika Team and our desire to help develop women's cycling in Slovenia addresses the value of equal social inclusion, as girls still have a harder path in sports than boys.
Pika Team slogan-a is: Bend after bend closer to your dreams and from today on, dreams are allowed.
