A Successful Cycling Weekend: Kamnik and Domžale Host the Pogi Cup

The cycling weekend in the municipalities of Kamnik and Domžale once again featured top-notch sporting events. On Saturday, April 11, the 5th race for the Calcit Kamnik Cup and the ZAME Grand Prix took place in Tunjice, marking the first stage of the overall Pogi Cup standings. Competitors in the MU17 (junior men), MU19 (senior men), WU17 (junior women), WU19 (senior women), and WE (women’s elite) categories competed on the challenging course.

The action continued on Sunday, April 12, when Ihan hosted the 3rd Domžale Municipality Grand Prix, the second stage of the Pogi Cup. With perfect weather, a large crowd, and a diverse range of accompanying activities, the event once again demonstrated a high level of organization.

The program began with children’s races, in which as many as 80 children participated. This was followed by an amateur race and the municipal championship, before which Mayor Renata Kosec addressed the participants. In the afternoon, the races for the Slovenian Cup took place, with the MU17, WU19, and WE categories covering 50 km, and the MU19 category covering 75 km.
