LUKA PIBERNIK NEW SPORTS DIRECTOR OF THE LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC MEMBER TEAM

At the beginning of this season, the 29-year-old former professional cyclist joined the Ljubljana Gusto Santic senior team at the initiative of KD Roga president Andrej Hauptman, where he will use his wealth of cycling experience to motivate and train young Slovenian cyclists.

Pibernik comes from the Rogova cycling school and was a professional cyclist in the Radenska, Lampre-Merida, and Bahrain-McLaren clubs from 2012 to 2020. In 2013 and 2015, he won the national championship title in road races. His greatest successes came at the 2012 World Championships, where he finished fifth in the junior road race, and in 2016, when he won the first stage of the Eneco Tour.

"We have to be optimistic and believe in ourselves, because without that, there will be no results," he said in his first interview in his new role. We invite you to watch the full interview in the video below.
