The first day of the national championship at the velodrome brought many exciting moments for our club, as we witnessed the extraordinary achievements of our young cyclists. Domen Oblak shone in the individual pursuit race for senior youth at a distance of 3 km, earning the gold medal, while Tine Jenko stepped onto the second step of the podium. The juniors were not far behind in the distance of 2 km, as Vanja Kuntarič Žibert won the gold medal, while Bor Ebner came third.
The team sprint for older juniors was also successful for our club, as Pogi Team UAE Generali, consisting of Domen Oblak, Tina Jenko and Enej Cuk, won first place. The younger juniors were not far behind in the team sprint, as the Pogi Team UAE Generali, consisting of Bastian Petrič, Žan Lopatič and Jakob Šlibar, stepped onto the top step of the podium. Also, Pogi Team UAE Generali, consisting of Bor Ebner, Žiga Stare and Žiga Hamun, won second place.
In addition to individual and team successes, awards were also given to the best in the Cup of Slovenia for juniors, where Bastian Petrič and Vanja Kuntarič Žibert received awards.
The second day of the national championship was no less successful for our boys. In the junior team race at a distance of 3 km, the Pogi Team UAE Generali, consisting of Petrič, Ebner, Šlibar and Kuntarič Žibert, won the gold medal, while the team of Machtig, Vintar, Hamun and Stare took second place. Older juniors competed at a distance of 4 km and the Pogi Team UAE Generali team, consisting of Oblak, Jenko, Medved and Gregorčič, climbed to the top step.
Žan Lopatič set a new national record in the 500 m for juniors with a time of 35:12 seconds, which is an extraordinary achievement. In addition, Bor Ebner won the relegation race for juniors. Tine Jenko showed his excellent fitness and won the 1 km time trial for older juniors.
The last day of the national championship at the velodrome brought even more success for our club. Bastian Petrič and Žan Lopatič proved themselves in the race to the finish line for younger juniors, where they won first and second place. Žan Lopatič and Žiga Stare shone in the 200 m sprint for juniors, while Bastian Petrič also joined them. Tine Jenko became the winner in the 200 m sprint for older juniors. In the final event, Madison, Domen Oblak and Tine Jenko won the gold medal.
