BTC City Ljubljana Scott juniors

The team of young women in the cycling association Rog combines two competition categories, namely younger young women (15 and 16 years old) and older young women (17 and 18 years old) under the name BTC City Ljubljana. Even younger members are usually included in the group, i.e. girls on the transition between the categories of older juniors and members. Since the biological development of girls during puberty is different from that of boys, girls and boys are separated by training groups at the end of primary school. However, some trainings are still carried out in mixed groups, where we primarily take into account the ability of the trainees and their cycling skills. In principle, young women train together, but within the group we also take into account individual abilities, sports past, technical skills and biological development.

We roughly divide the cycling season into two parts, namely the winter and summer parts. In the winter or preparatory part, we perform fitness training in nature (running, hill walking, cross-country skiing and mountain biking), develop movement skills in the gym and use specific cycling training on stationary bikes. During the summer part, we acquire cycling skills at the police training ground in Tacno, which is closed to traffic, we cycle on roads with less traffic around Ljubljana and, of course, we participate in competitions.

The target competitions for young women are the Slovenian Cup races and close races in Italy, where the competitions are more massive and take into account the peculiarities of women's cycling for this age group. The girls in the category of younger juniors are already competing for an appearance at the annual Youth Olympic Festival as part of the national team. Older juniors have the opportunity to break into the women's junior national team, which competes in the Nations Cup race system and at the European and World Championships.

Joining the women's youth team is not conditional on achieving good results or previous cycling training, but we welcome all girls who want to get to know cycling and its characteristics into our ranks. The goal of the team is, on the one hand, to increase the number of girls in cycling, and on the other, to ensure the provision of a base of female competitors with the skills to compete in the women's member competition.

HOW DO I JOIN KD ROG?

Rog's cycling school is called the Pogi Team cycling school.
From March to the end of October, training for the cycling school takes place at the police training ground in Tacno, where they can "try out" the special bike and learn the first kilometers in safe conditions. Trainings take place three times a week, namely on Mondays, Thursdays (from 6 to 7 p.m.) and Saturdays (from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.).
Monthly training for members of the Pogi team cycling school is free, but the annual membership fee costs 90 euros, for which you also receive a Pogi team cycling jersey and shorts.

If you are interested in becoming a member of KD Rog, write to us at info@kdrog.si, and we will return the membership statement to you.
