Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott raced at KIDS TOUR OF SLOVENIA 30.6. – 2/7/2023

At a recently completed bicycle race Kids Tour of Slovenia 2023 the young cyclists of the Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott teams showed exceptional skills and talent. The stage race, which took place from June 30 to July 2, brought exciting battles between the youngest competitors who competed in four different stages.

4th stage / 4th stage Šentjernej

The first stage took place in Dolenjske Toplice, the second in Nova mesto, the third in Kostanjevica na Krka, and the fourth in Šentjernej. Each stage presented a unique opportunity for young male and female cyclists to show their skills and fight for the top places in their categories.

The race included various categories which included Boys and Girls C/U13, Boys and Girls B/U14, Boys and Girls A/U15 and Junior Juniors and Junior Juniors U17/WU17. Each category presented a special challenge and opportunity for young competitors to demonstrate their cycling skills and test themselves on a challenging course.

Teams Pogi Team UAE Generali and BTC City Ljubljana Scott showed an extremely strong presence in the race, with their male and female cyclists showing speed, endurance and tactical thinking. Their discipline, dedication and team spirit led them to outstanding results.

The young male and female competitors impressed the audience with their incredible rides and fighting spirit at every stage. We saw exceptional sprints, climbs, descents and tactical maneuvers, which proved that the future of Slovenian cycling is bright and promising.

National road championship in Radovljica + race in Italy

In the idyllic Slovenian town of Radovljica, the national road cycling championship "Slovenije National Championship" took place today, which brought an exceptional atmosphere and tense races. Young and experienced cyclists competed on challenging routes, where the titles of national champions in various categories were decided.

In the categories of junior juniors and senior juniors, the competitors overcame three rounds with a total length of 58.5 kilometers and a height difference of 990 meters. In the junior category, Bastian Petrič shone, winning the title of national champion with his exceptional driving and endurance. Marcel Skok took third place among the older juniors, and both competitors are members of the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team.

In the senior junior category, Ema Podberšič from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team climbed to the top, and with her outstanding performance, she convincingly won the national champion title. Among the members, the national champion was Urška Pintar, also from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team. Both cyclists showed exceptional strength, endurance and cycling skills.

In the members' category, the race took place on a challenging 156-kilometer route, which included eight laps and a 2,640-meter elevation difference. The riders tackled the challenges the course offered, including two short climbs. In this extremely competitive race, Anže Skok from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team took 10th place, while Tadej Pogačar, a member of the UAE team, established himself at the top, who shone and deservedly crowned himself the national champion.

In addition to the national championship in Radovljica, POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI riders also competed in a race in Italy. In the boys' category A, Miha Otoničar won first place with a 40-second advantage over his pursuers, while Urban Hvastja took fifth place in the boys' category B.

Today's races at the national championship and the race in Italy were full of adrenaline, outstanding achievements and outstanding cycling talent. Competitors tackled difficult challenges, overcame difficult climbs and impressed the spectators with exceptional driving. Successful national time trial championship for the Rog Cycling Association

Today, June 22, 2023, the national time trial championship was held, organized by the Cycling Association of Slovenia in cooperation with the KK Gorje club. Many young cyclists and members in different age categories competed at the event. The competition served up exciting rides, outstanding achievements and well-deserved winners.

Among the juniors (U17), Vanja Kuntarič Žibert from POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI took the top step on the winners' podium. With a superb ride, he showed exceptional talent and potential for the future of cycling in Slovenia.

Ema Podberšič from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team took first place in the category of senior juniors (WJ), while second place went to her club colleague Sara Pestotnik. Both showed speed and endurance and proved that they are among the best cyclists in their category.

Among the senior juniors (MJ), fourth place was won by Gašper Klanjšček from the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team. Despite the strong competition, he showed excellent driving, which earned him a ranking among the best.

Natan Gregorčič from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team celebrated in the category of members under 23 years of age (MU). With his perseverance, strength and tactically perfect driving, he beat all the competition and earned the gold medal.

Nika Bobnar from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team took the first place among the members under 23 years of age (WU). With her exceptional form and excellent preparation, she shone on the track and was looking forward to a well-deserved victory.

Urška Pintar from the BTC CITY LJUBLJANA Scott team took second place in the female category (WE), while Nika Bobnar took third place, proving her versatility and quality.

Anže Skok from the LJUBLJANA GUSTO SANTIC team won third place in the members category (ME). With his combativeness and speed, he impressed the audience and ranked among the best cyclists in the competition.

The National Time Trial Championship was a successful and exceptional competition that revealed the top cycling knowledge and talent of young people as well as the experience of experienced competitors. The winners deservedly rejoiced at their successes, and at the same time, all participants showed themselves to be examples of perseverance, discipline and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to all competitors and organizers for holding an exceptional event that contributed to the promotion of cycling in Slovenia and impressed many cycling fans. Next year, we are already eagerly awaiting the new national championship, which will certainly serve up even more tension, excitement and extraordinary achievements.

Younger juniors and Boys A and B Pogi team impressed at the races in Italy

Pogi team juniors faced strong competition today at the race in Italy, which took place in the city of Pieris. The race consisted of six flat laps of 7.2 km each and two climbs on Doberdob and San Michele, for a total of 83 km. Out of 80 cyclists who started, only 30 crossed the finish line.

The Pogi team was represented by Bastian Petrič, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert, Jakob Šlibar, Žiga Hamun, Mauro Mächtig, Matic Vintar, Nejc Podržaj and Žiga Stare. In the solo breakaway, the victory was celebrated by the Italian cyclist Rosatto, who already had more than a minute ahead of his pursuers at the top of San Michele. In the sprint for second place, Bastian Petrič was excellent, showing his speed and strength and winning third place on the podium. This is his biggest success this season.

In addition to Petrič, the other members of the Pogi team also performed well in the first pursuit group. Mauro Mächtig was 13th, Nejc Podržaj 22nd, Jakob Šlibar 23rd and Vanja Kuntarič Žibert 25th. Žiga Hamun, Matic Vintar and Žiga Stare resigned this time.

The trainers of the Pogi team were satisfied with the results of their wards: "It was a very difficult race, with many ups and downs. The boys showed fighting spirit and team spirit. Bastian was fantastic in the sprint and the others helped him by working well in the group. This is a great success for our club and for Slovenian cycling."

The younger boys of the A and B Pogi team also proved themselves in the Italian race 18° MEMORIAL FEDERICO CARLET, which was 40 km long. In boys A, Miha Otoničar, who was second, and Jake Sosa, who was fourth, climbed onto the podium. In boys B, Franci Krajnc was second, Urban Hvastja was fifth and Gal Klun was seventh.

Pogi Team senior juniors: from the time trial to Ca del Poggio - a weekend in Italy

Pogi Team, a senior junior team founded and supported by a two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar, took part in two races in Italy this weekend and showed her talent and fighting spirit.

On Saturday, Pogi Teamovci competed in the Gran Premio Eccellenze Valli del Soligo team time trial, which counted 17.8 kilometers. In the line-up of Marcel Skok, Jure Medved, Domen Oblak, Jakub Husar and Tina Jenko, our young cyclists achieved 23rd place among 34 teams. The Zalf Euromobil Fior team won.

On Sunday, the first category race TF GD Dorigo MO Biemmereti MO Ettore e Cristiano F was scheduled, which measured 135 kilometers. The race was very demanding, as the circuit included three climbs on the famous Ca del Poggio slope, which has an average gradient of 12 percent in a good kilometer. Our Pogi Teamovci fought bravely and showed some nice actions. The best among them was Marcel Skok, who took 35th place.

Pogi Team and BTC City Ljubljana shined in the Race for the Sandi Papež Cup

Pogi and BTC City Ljubljana with excellent results in the Sandi Papež Cup Race

This time the race took place on June 11, 2023 and was intended for boys, girls and young women. The race route covered the route from Gabrje to Hrušica and back.

Our riders, known as Pogi Team UAE Generali, have achieved excellent results. Miha Otoničar won second place in the boys' category A on the 24.5 km long course, Jake Sosa took fifth place, Maks Majnik took sixth place, and Jure Jovanovič took eighth place.

In the boys category B, on the 19.6 km long course, Andrew Jackson McCurry took first place, Gal Klun took second place, Urban Hvastja took fifth place, and Franci Kranjc took eighth place. Among boys C, on a 9.8 km course, Marcos Remon took first place.

Our cyclists from the team BTC City Ljubljana Scoot have also achieved excellent results. Taja Mehle won fourth place in the category of junior girls on the 24.5 km long course. Lina Mehle took first place in the girls' category A on the 19.6 km long course, while Lara Šetina took third place among the girls B on the 9.8 km long course.

The exceptional results of the KD ROG cycling teams at the 2nd criterion in Murska Sobota and the exceptional success of Urška Pintar at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 in France.

Exceptional performances by the cycling teams of the cycling association ROG at the national championship in road cycling - 2nd CRITERIA OF THE CITY OF MURSKA SOBOTA

On Sunday, June 4, 2023, the national championship in road cycling was held in Murska Sobota for different age categories of juniors, juniors, senior juniors, juniors U23, elite men and elite women. The event attracted top riders from various teams, and two teams also excelled among them POGI TEAM UAE GENERALS and BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT.

POGI TEAM UAE GENERALS

The team POGI TEAM UAE GENERALS impressed with her outstanding achievements at the championship. Miha Otoničar took an excellent 2nd place in the category of boys A (U15/2), while Jure Jovanovič won 4th place in the same category. Jake Sosa and Luka Ukmar also achieved excellent results, placing 9th and 10th in the same category.

In the category of boys B (U15/1), Urban Hvastija won 1st place, while Franci Krajnc took 2nd place. Miha Kovačič and Nejc Čebulj placed 7th and 9th in the same category.

Miha Otoničar continued his success and placed 2nd in the boys category C (U13). Marcos Remon and Andrej Gregorčič achieved 6th and 9th place in the same category.

In the junior category (U17), the POGI TEAM UAE GENERALI team shone. Bor Ebner won 1st place, Bastian Petrič 2nd place, Žiga Hamun 5th place, Vanja Kuntaric Žibert 7th place and Igor Prijatelj 10th place.

Marcel Skok took 9th place in the category of senior juniors (MJ).

BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT

The team BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT she also proved herself at the championship. Lina Mehle won 1st place in the category of girls A (WU15/2), while Zara Bukovec took 4th place in the same category. Lara Šetina took 2nd place in the category of girls B (WU15/1), and Ana Neža Pavlin took 9th place in the same category.

In the category of young women (WU17), Vesna Potočnik took 1st place, Taja Mehle 4th place, Neža Šetina 6th place, Brina Manja Čuš 8th place, Anika Juvan 9th place and Julija Farazin 10th place.

The team of BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT also excelled in the category of senior juniors (WJ). Ema Podberšič won 3rd place, Sara Pestotnik 4th place, Eva Potočnik 5th place, Tjaša Sušnik 6th place, Zoja Ferlež 7th place, Lucija Hočevar 8th place and Maja Perpar 9th place.

All cycling teams showed exceptional perseverance, talent and fighting spirit at the road cycling championship in Murska Sobota. Urša Pintar won second place in the challenging Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race in France

Urša Pintar, team member BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT, impressed with her outstanding achievement at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race in France. The competition, which is considered one of the most difficult in the women's cycling calendar, served up a demanding course of 126 km and an incredible 3,200 m height difference.

In the last 10 km of the climb, there was a decisive selection, and only three cyclists remained in the front, including Urša Pintar together with Evita Muzic and Cofidis team member Coston Morgane. In a tense finish to the race, Evita Muzic broke away on the descent and deservedly celebrated the victory. Urša Pintar arrived at the finish line as an excellent second, recording an outstanding achievement and placing on the podium in the first category race.

In addition to Urša Pintar, the young members of the BTC CITY team LJUBLJANA SCOTT, Nika Bobnar and Tjaša Sušnik also took part in the race, although they finished the race with a bigger gap, but nevertheless showed exceptional fighting spirit and perseverance on the demanding route.

For Urša Pintar, the success at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic 1.1 race is an important milestone in her cycling career, which confirms her excellent preparation and talent. The BTC CITY LJUBLJANA SCOTT team continues to strengthen its reputation with excellent results in international races and consolidate its position among the best women's cycling teams.

Slovenian young cyclists shone at the Carnia Julium Classic 2023 race in Italy

Pogi Team juniors continue their winning streak in international cycling races

This time at a prestigious race Carnia Julium Classic 2023 in Italy. Despite the strong competition and the demanding route of 70 kilometers, our boys once again proved their cycling skills and combativeness.

The race started with a series of flat laps, where our riders already showed exceptional driving and skilfully covered the attacks of their opponents. As the race turned into the final climb, a larger group of riders formed. The boys got along perfectly and with teamwork put Vanja Kuntarič Žibert in an excellent starting point for attacking the top.

As the finish approached, Vanja showed tremendous strength and stamina and attacked a kilometer before the end of the climb. With a fast pace, he already gained a good advantage over the other competitors. However, his charge was caught just 50 meters from the finish line as Italy's Magagnotti overtook him to claim victory.

Despite this, Vanja Kuntarič Žibert won an excellent second place in the race, which is an extraordinary achievement for a young cyclist. Congratulations to the entire team for their excellent teamwork, as they contributed to Vanja's success with their tactical driving and support.

This result proves that our young riders are in great shape and are ready for the challenges of international racing. Their fighting spirit, perseverance and team spirit are a true example for all fans and young cyclists who want to achieve success in cycling races.

Sincere congratulations to Vanja Kuntarič Žibert and the entire team for an outstanding achievement at the Carnia Julium Classic 2023 race in Italy! With such inspiration and hard work, they will certainly continue their successful cycling journey.
